“The Cooler Master X Silent Edge Platinum 850 is a fully modular ATX 3.1 power supply with an 850W output, distinguished by its passive cooling system. This fanless design is made possible through a combination of high efficiency at elevated wattages and an advanced array of heat sinks and heat pipes. While this approach completely eliminates fan noise, it also introduces some trade-offs, such as increased weight and limitations on mounting orientation.

Cooler Master introduced this new lineup at Computex 2024, branding the X Silent Edge Platinum 850 as the “industry’s first fanless PSU to achieve 850W”. The unit boasts “totally silent and dustless performance” thanks to its innovative heat pipe technology.

Designed to ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, it includes a 12V-2x6 cable, enabling it to support high-wattage GPUs with up to 600W of power. Specifically designed with the latest GPUs in mind, this power supply demonstrates impressive efficiency at high loads and excursion resiliency.

As of the publication date, it was launched at a promotional price of $399 USD, with the regular MSRP at $549 USD on the Cooler Master webstore, which is slightly higher than other Platinum power supplies but still competitively priced.”

“The CK720 is equipped with hot-swappable Kailh Box V2 mechanical switches, available in linear Red, clicky White, and tactile Brown variants. in testing, the Kailh Box V2 Brown switches performed with an operating force of 39.5 gf, 1.99 mm of pre-travel, and 3.75 mm of total travel.

In terms of latency, the keyboard delivered above average performance, clocking 16.4 ms in wired mode. While the latency is not groundbreaking, it is sufficient for most users, particularly in non-gaming applications.”

Standard Operating Procedure Example | Read More

1.0 Purpose

The purpose of this document is to define the standardized methodology for testing power supply units (PSUs) in compliance with industry best practices and ATX power supply specifications. This procedure ensures consistent, repeatable, and accurate results when evaluating PSU performance, safety, and efficiency.

By following this SOP, test technicians and engineers can systematically assess PSU performance under controlled conditions, ensuring that the results are reliable and applicable across different models and manufacturers. This document outlines the complete testing process, from equipment setup to final analysis, minimizing variability in testing outcomes.

2.0 Scope

This SOP applies to all power supply units tested within the laboratory environment. The methodology includes hardware setup, test execution, and data analysis.

This document is relevant for all personnel involved in PSU testing, including test developers, technicians, and quality assurance (QA) professionals. The procedures outlined here apply to both consumer and enterprise-grade power supplies, ensuring that all units are evaluated consistently against industry standards.”

“In our F1 23 tests, the default 9700X maintained an average clock speed of 5478 MHz with a maximum clock speed of 5525 MHz. At the unlimited PPT setting, the CPU held steady at around 5512 MHz while drawing 92-95W, slightly above the 85-87W drawn at the default PPT. This suggests that a 120W PPT might be an optimal setting for gaming. We’ll get back to this hypothesis later. In Cinebench, the efficiency, measured as score-per-watt, demonstrated expected diminishing returns as wattage increased: 13.49 at the default 88W PPT, 10.62 at 120W PPT, and 8.76 at unlimited PPT. This trend is characteristic of overclocking, where increased wattage often results in reduced efficiency...”

“So much has been written about Artificial Intelligence (AI) in recent months and years, that it’s almost bold of us to add our two cents to this discussion. However, comparatively little has been written about the impact of AI - both Generative (GenAI) and Analytical AI/Machine Learning (AI/ML) - on Retail Real Estate planning and the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and location intelligence tools. We set out to provide some perspective by interviewing a group of real estate executives across a range of sectors - Retail, Financial Services, Quick Service Restaurants (QSR), and Fast Casual Restaurants, as well as Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Brokers and Consultants - about the potential disruption that AI may or may not bring to the broad field of location analytics and GIS.”

In today’s post-COVID world, the retail landscape in terms of brick and mortar investments has changed forever. Some household name brand retailers have shut their doors completely and re-emerged in a different form. The latest example is Bed, Bath & Beyond in Canada. They declared bankruptcy and shuttered all brick and mortar stores early this year.

Yet in other stories, some retailers have emerged stronger and are expanding brick and mortar plays through acquisition, new build expansion, retail partnerships and investments in store renovations through digital technology to refresh their brands and optimize their return on investment. But none of this is new of course - some of it was predictable while others not so much.

So how do we account for future potential shifts in the market to compliment a data-driven retail strategy function?

The schematic for this project is represented in Appendix B. As seen, the FSR is connected to the 5V socket on the Arduino Uno R3 through the fitted circuit board, and grounded on a ground row. It is also connected to the Analog 0 socket with one 220 ohm 5% 1/4W Through-Hole Resistor. The speaker is then connected to a section for the Digital 8 socket, and grounded on the same ground row. The red LED is fitted between the speaker 5V connection and the digital connection. The 9V battery is connected with a male Direct Current (DC) adapter with a 2.1mm plug to screw terminal block. A 9V battery was selected because through the design’s first iterations one 3.7V 500mAh Lithium Ion Polymer battery was not sufficient power to run the program. The second iteration was changed to two 3V CR2032 Lithium Coin Cell batteries, and was also found to not have enough power to run the program.

The structure of the project is built with ample plastic cement, ethenylbenzene (Styrene) sheets, and my own sacrificed Sidney Crosby iPhone 5S phone case, that is made out of impact resistant, and flexible plastic. The Arduino Uno R3 and fitted circuit board is housed in a roughly built styrene structure.

Meredeth of Green Glades. The enchanting realm of Green Glades, a picturesque village nestled within the embrace of ancient forests and rolling hills, a few nights away from Helegthrond, and few more nights travel from the main port in the Vaevsel Protectorates. Meredeth the half-elf orphan, with her ethereal charm and bright auburn hair that seems to catch the sunlight, is unexpectedly brought to Green Glades. Her bright auburn hair stood out amongst her fully elven compatriots, something she brings from her human side. She finds herself in the care of the benevolent elder elven siblings, Elinor and Elric, who reside in a quaint cottage farm on the outskirts of the village. Meredeth's arrival was meant to be a simple arrangement; they were looking for a farm boy to help maintain the farm in their elderly years. But when Meredeth was dropped off from the caravan with her worn woven tapestry traveler’s bag, her effervescent spirit and the touch of resiliency she brought to Green Glades cast a spell over its inhabitants.
